A poignant almost full moon hangs heavy over the north-eastern skies of Dehradun.
The HIndu calendar considers this an auspicious full moon. The rites of Fertility and the prolongation of the chromosomes are ensconced in the festivities at this time. The women light earthen lamps and place them in the waters to wish for a "good man"....and that is an oxymoron.
