¿Are you shooting with flash and strobes? ¿Are you building up complex lighting arrangements that you would like to record? You can always use a fancy notebok (love the Moleskin ones) and a pencil but, in case you would prefer to have a more standarised way, here is one: an online lighting diagram creator. It is as simple as drawing. You place on the screen the different elements (camera, strobes, backgrounds, reflectors...) and then export the file to PNG, JPG and URL (this one still under test). In a few minutes you managed to setup a very professional looking diagram. And maybe the best of all... it's free!
